Travel should feel exciting, not overwhelming.
Nomad’s Path Travel was founded on the simple principle that exceptional journeys begin with thoughtful planning, honest guidance, and attention to detail.
These are the same tenets that have guided my work as a professional genealogist and project manager. My work has been defined by precision, strategy, and careful coordination - which characterize how I design travel itineraries.
Although I can assist in planning and booking any type of travel arrangements, I specialize in ocean and river cruises, resort vacations, and domestic road trips. These are my specialties because they are how I personally travel. I have cruised on the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, throughout the Caribbean, and through Alaska’s Inner Passage many times. I spend several months most years living in resorts, and have taken road trips all across North America, visiting almost every National Park.
As an affiliate of Cornerstone Travel, I offer access to respected global suppliers of every type of travel arrangement, while maintaining the attentiveness of a boutique advisory.

The Top Five Cruise Lines
Royal Caribbean International is generally best for travelers who want the biggest, busiest ships with lots of activities, especially families, multi-generational groups, and action-oriented vacationers. The budget level is generally moderate to upper-moderate, although the newest ships can price much higher. Royal Caribbean is most known for their mega-ships (Icon and Oasis classes), and their expanding private destination network, such as CocoCay.
Carnival Cruise Line is generally best for fun-seeking mainstream cruisers, friend groups, and families who care more about a lively vacation than luxury. The budget level is generally budget to lower-moderate, making it one of the most accessible major lines. Carnival is most known for its “fun ship” identity, casual atmosphere, comedy/nightlife, and value-focused Caribbean, Bahamas, and Mexico sailings.
MSC Cruises is best for travelers who prefer a more European style, big ships, a higher international passenger mix, and competitive fares. It works well for families and value-conscious cruisers, but can also appeal to those looking for a different onboard vibe. The budget level is usually budget to moderate. MSC is best known for its strong Europe presence and large resort-style ships.
Norwegian Cruise Line is best for passengers wanting a casual, flexible cruise without much emphasis on fixed schedules or traditional formality. Budget level is usually moderate, with some upscale pricing on newer ships and The Haven accomodations. It is most known for Freestyle Cruising, with flexible dining and a more relaxed dress culture compared to some of the other major lines.
Princess Cruises are best for travelers wanting a more traditional, polished premium experience, especially couples, adults, and destination-focused cruisers. The budget level is generally moderate to premium. It is most known for being “The Love Boat” brand with strong service, Alsakan itineraries, and its MedallionClass tech-driven onboard experience.
Ocean cruising remains one of the most rewarding and efficient ways to explore the world. Board one of these floating all-inclusive resorts/theme parks, and wake every morning in a completely different environment or country. Cruises can take you to every continent and across every ocean on Earth. There are itineraries to fit every budget, every occasion, and every group. From Caribbean sailings to Mediterranean voyages and beyond, I help clients navigate the many cruise lines, ships, and itineraries available today. I guide you through the entire process to ensure that your cruise vacation sails smoothly every step of the way, whether it is your first cruise or your tenth.
Ocean Cruises
River cruising offers an intimate and immersive way to experience historic regions and cultural landscapes. Smaller ships, scenic routes, and thoughtfully curated excursions allow travelers to experience destinations at a slower and more meaningful pace. I assist with selecting the right river cruise line, itinerary, and sailing to match your interests and budget, whether exploring the great rivers of Europe, North America, or the Intracoastal Waterway.
River Cruises
The two most widely known and traveled river cruise lines are Viking and American Cruise Lines.
Viking specializes in European itineraries, but also offers river cruises in Southeast Asia, Egypt, and the United States. Their fleet of over 80 river vessels is the largest in the industry, with most vessels accomodating a maximum of 200 passengers.
American Cruise Lines operates solely within the United States, offering cruises along the Mississippi, Ohio, Cumberland, Arkansas, Tennessee, Snake, and Columbia Rivers, the Intracoastal Waterway, and along the east and west coasts. With a fleet of 38 active vessels, they are the largest river cruise line operating in the Americas, and have another ten new vessels entering service in the next two years.
A new entry into the river cruise market is Celebrity, known for their luxury ocean cruises. Celebrity River Cruises was announced in 2025, with the first vessels entering service in 2027. In January 2026, Celebrity doubled their initial order, and will see 20 new ships entering service by 2031.
Sometimes the best vacation is one where everything you want and need is right at your fingertips. Resort destinations offer the perfect blend of relaxation, comfort, and adventure whether you’re lounging by a tropical pool, enjoying world-class dining, or exploring the local nightlife and environment.
All-inclusive resorts make travel effortless by bundling accomodations, meals, drinks, entertainment, and activities into one seamless experience. They are ideal for travelers who want to relax without worrying about the details. Non-all-inclusive resorts provide greater flexibility, allowing you to explore local cuisine, culture, and excursions while still enjoying the amenities of a beautiful property.
From romantic Caribbean escapes and adults-only luxury retreats to family-friendly beachfront resorts filled with activities, I help match you with the perfect property for your travel style and budget. I also handle the details - from helping you select the right resort and room category to arranging transfers, excursions, and special experiences - so you can focus on enjoying your vacation.
Whether you want pure relaxation or a resort that serves as a gateway to exploring a destination, I will help design a getaway that feels effortless from the moment you arrive.
Resort Vacations
Road trips have always been one of my favorite ways to travel. Nearly twenty years ago, I wrote a weekly newspaper column dedicated entirely to road trips, crafting a new road trip itinerary for readers in every issue. Since then, my love of the open road has only grown, especially through several month-long journeys exploring America’s incredible National Parks and scenic landscapes.
There’s something special about the freedom of a road trip: discovering hidden small towns, stopping at breathtaking viewpoints, and finding those unforgettable places that most travelers drive right past. But planning a great road trip takes more than simply plugging a destination into a GPS. The magic is in the route.
I design custom road trip itineraries that turn the journey itself into the adventure. From scenic byways and iconic national parks to charming roadside attractions and outstanding local restaurants, I map out routes that maximize both the experience and your time.
Whether you’re dreaming of a classic cross-country adventure, a national park expedition, or a carefully planned regional getaway, I’ll build a personalized itinerary that blends must-see highlights with hidden gems, so that every mile of your trip is worth the drive.

Using a Travel Advisor
Planning a great trip today can feel overwhelming. With thousands of resorts, cruise itineraries, hotels, and destinations available online, it is often difficult to know which options are truly worth your time and money. That is where working with a travel advisor makes a difference.
Travel advisors help cut through the noise and guide you to the experiences that fit your interests, travel style, and budget. Instead of spending hours researching destinations, comparing reviews, and coordinating bookings, you have an experienced partner who handles the details for you. My goal is to make your travel planning easier, more enjoyable, and ultimately more rewarding.
Working with me also means you benefit from professional relationships within the travel industry, access to trusted suppliers, and personalized recommendations that go far beyond what an online booking engine can provide. Working with a travel advisor turns the planning process into something enjoyable rather than stressful, and helps ensure your vacation is everything you hoped it would be.
The Planning Process
Every trip begins with a conversation. I take the time to understand what you want from your vacation whether that means relaxation at a beautiful resort, a scenic river cruise through Europe, an ocean voyage to new destinations, or a carefully designed road trip through America’s most spectacular landscapes.
Consultation: We start with a discussion about your travel goals, interests, budget, and timing. This helps me understand exactly what kind of experience you are looking for.
Research & Trip Design: Using my industry knowledge, resources, and over two decades of extensive travel experience, I research destinations, resorts, cruises, or routes that match your vision and create personal recommendations.
Booking & Coordination: Once you select the options that fit you best, I handle the reservations and coordinate the details, ensuring everything is organized smoothly.
Preparation for Travel: Before your trip, you receive all necessary documentation and helpful information so you can travel confidently and stress-free.
Support Along the Way: Should any issue arise before or during your trip, I remain available to assist so you can focus on enjoying your travel experience.

In most cases, no. Travel advisors are typically compensated by the travel suppliers, such as cruise lines, resorts, and tour operators, rather than by the client. That means you receive professional guidance, planning assistance, and support without paying more for your trip. If a trip requires extensive custom planning that involves a service fee, I will always explain that clearly in advance.
-
No. While I specialize in cruises and resort vacations, I can book any type of travel arrangements for you. Hotels, flights, guided tours, travel insurance, and rail journeys are all services that I can provide. If you can imagine it, I will help you plan and book it.

The short answer is as soon as possible. However, the longer answer is more complex. It is generally best to begin planning several months in advance whenever possible, especially for cruises and popular resorts that can fill up quickly. For cruises specifically, January through March is the best time to book, as most cruise lines offer their best promotions early in the year. Planning early often provides better availibility, better pricing, and more choices when it comes to accomodations and travel dates.
-
Absolutely. One of the biggest advantages of working with a travel advisor is having someone in your corner if unexpected issues arise. Whether it is a travel disruption, schedule change, or other concern, I can help work with suppliers to resolve the issue and keep your trip on track.
-
It helps to know your general travel dates, destination ideas, budget range, and who will be traveling with you. If you are not sure about the details yet, that is perfectly fine - I can help you narrow down the options and shape the trip together.
